The site on Ganels Road, Billericay was previously identified as part of a Chartered Institute of Housing review as not being fit for purpose, with the units undersized and not meeting residents needs and modern standards.

These high quality modern houses will include social rented homes to be allocated to local residents as part of the Council’s Allocation policy and shared ownership which will be available as part of Sempra Homes’ Shared Ownership affordable housing programme, with priority given to Basildon Borough residents, key workers, and veterans, who will be able to purchase these homes and make their first steps on the housing ladder.
As part of the development programme, Sempra Homes will also be providing opportunities for local labour employment and apprenticeships as well as supporting the local supply chain, including local Wickford based contractor Indecon Building Ltd, who has been appointed to deliver the demolition and construction works and Essex based Employers Agents, PSW Building Consultancy Ltd.
A series of site visits with students from local schools will also be arranged to provide out of classroom learning opportunities and promote the wide range of careers available in construction, both on site and throughout the wider industry.
