As well as delivering much-needed new homes for the local area, Sempra Homes’ forthcoming development at Broadmayne and Fairlop Garages in Basildon will provide enhancements to the adjacent council-owned open space.
The development will create 35 new family homes, with 50% allocated as social rent, which will be let to local residents. As part of its commitment to enhancing the local environment and leaving a lasting legacy, Sempra Homes will also be improving the public open space, while retaining pedestrian and cycle connections and complementing the existing trees and vegetation, making it a high-quality public amenity space for the local community to enjoy.
Melanie Keys, Services Manager at Sempra Homes, comments, “We are really excited to be delivering this new development, which will enable us to carry out these improvement works. Both existing and new residents will have access to and be able to enjoy these enhancements for years to come.
“We are working alongside the Council’s Parks, Countryside, and Biodiversity teams to ensure an improvement in biodiversity for the area. This includes incorporating bird and bat boxes, improving the health of existing trees, and creating a series of green pedestrian links to enhance access.”
During a recent site visit, the team was thrilled to find a bountiful selection of biodiversity species, including grass vetchling, red clover, chickweed, meadow buttercup, white clover, and various geranium species.
Work has started on site and the new homes are expected to be available for launch in 2025.
