Sempra Homes is thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted in a number of prestigious categories at this year’s Essex Housing Awards. These awards, judged by a panel of leading housing professionals and advisors, celebrate high-quality developments, services, and individuals across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, promoting best practices throughout the county.
Shortlisted Categories:
- Excellence in Design and Placemaking:Sempra’s Ghyllgrove Place development has been recognised in this category, highlighting our commitment to creating well-designed, vibrant communities.
- Meeting Housing Need:Sempra Homes and Basildon Council’s New Build and Acquisition Programme has been shortlisted for our efforts in addressing the housing needs of the borough.
- Housing and Development Professional of the Year:Melanie Keys, Service Manager at Sempra Homes, has been honoured as a finalist in this category, recognising her outstanding contributions to housing and development.
- The Mo Slade Rising Star Award – Joe Stanhope, Sempra Homes and Basildon Council has been recognised as a young person or apprentice that has become a rising star, making a significant contribution to a housing project or service.
- Small Housing Scheme (1 to 24 homes) Phase 7 Programme (Garage Programme) through Basildon Council’s HRA delivery has been shortlisted as making an impact to meeting housing needs in Essex.
- Medium Housing Scheme (25 to 100 homes) – Cricketers Court through Basildon Council has been celebrated as meeting housing needs and improving the image and perception of housing in Essex.

The winners will be announced at an award ceremony in November, where we look forward to joining fellow finalists in celebrating the achievements in housing across Essex.
