Ghyllgrove Place is perfectly situated to meet the needs of all households, with a whole array of shopping & leisure activities within a short walking distance.
Just a short 5-minute drive away is Basildon Town Centre, which is home to Basildon’s newest Cinema, Vue Basildon. Also, within the town centre is Eastgate Shopping Centre, here you’ll find over 90 stores, including brands such as HMV, Holland and Barrett, River Island, Primark and New Look, not to mention a great range coffee shops. There are also many more retailers to explore in the town centre, including some quirky independent stores, while the nearby Pitsea Market has a fantastic range of 80-100 stalls selling everything from fresh fruit and fashion to vintage clothing. You’ll also find Basildon’s train station located on the outskirts of the town centre, where you’ll be able to take a train in to London in just 35 minutes. Alternatively you can travel the opposite direction to visit Southend-On-Sea, which is only a 20 minute journey. There awaits sandy beaches, jump on rides at Adventure Island amusement park and a walk or train ride up the world’s longest pleasure pier.
Only a 10-minute walk away is the entertainment complex Festival Leisure Park. Here you’ll be able to entertain the whole family with the range of activities on offer, from bowling at Hollywood Bowl, crazy golf at Mulligans, indoor karting at TeamSport Go Karting or going to watch a film at the multi-screen cinema, Cineworld. If after the activities you need to grab a bite to eat, also on offer are a variety of family friendly restaurants such as Wagamama’s, Nandos, Harvester plus much more.
If you love sports and fitness, Basildon has many enviable amenities. At Ghyllgrove Place, you’ll be a short walk from the Basildon Sporting Village. This boasts an Olympic-size swimming pool, a 112-station gym, an eight-court sports hall, an indoor climbing wall, a 400m running track and many other athletics facilities. You’ll also be ten minutes away from the Festival Wakeboard and Aqua Park, which has lots of fun water obstacles including inflatable trampolines and slides.
For golfing enthusiasts, there are plenty of clubs in and around Basildon. The Basildon Golf Course is home to the PGA East Anglian Open, while Langdon Hills Golf Country Club & Hotel offers a fantastic 27-hole course. The Burstead Golf Club is also popular, with an 18-hole course, driving range and putting green.
